Few original tectors Class ships remain those now slowly are being upgraded to the NEw Mk II Class. Soon after Endor, Fleet Command recalled all Tector-class ships converting them to Imperial Mk II-class. Unlike the Tector Mk I, the Tector MK II does not required Escorts and dedicated carriers to provide any star fighter support. Newer, updated weapons, armor, and shielding were installed, making the Tector II design more efficient in ship-to-ship combat even than its predicessor. With the development of the Tector Mk II-class the Hanger is reinstalled but instead uses side opening hanger bays near midships. Instead of ventral hangar bays, the design opted for an increase in armor that covered the areas normally used as main hangar openings, as well as the reactor core. The main modification was the removal of the ventral Hanger. Like it predecessor, the Tector II-class was built off of the Imperial Star Destroyer. The Tector II-class was a heavily modified Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer and sucessor to the Tector I.
